If climate change was man made, then the pope & his church are more guilty than most, as they encourage large families who (seeing the energy fueled lifestyles of pope & clergy) wish a similar lifestyle.
But throughout history leaders (religious & political) have almost always been hypocritical, ‘do as I sat not as I do’.
The pope was not speaking ex cathedra, and it would be a big stretch to include global warming as a matter of personal faith and morals. I’m afraid he was simply speaking as a misguided Jesuit. Find me that passage where Jesus commands us to make Caesar fix this or that problem.
