1] Ian Plimer is a honest gentleman – he did write his book with the best intention. Unfortunately, he has learnt things as lyrics; without analyzing. When one goes in battle – double-checks his own weapons – he never did. What he is got in his book, was used by Suzuki and an American prof of history (forgot his name) Pulitzer praise winner. they were traveling around the world and had problem to convince the masses that: ”global temp can go up and down at a drop of a hat”
Then Plimer collected their ”proofs” (what the skeptics use now) and added more, in his book. that brainwashed the ”people standing against the warmist” They, you are all shooting blanks / created originally by the Warmist = therefore; you are shooting yourself with a machine-gun in the foot, with those pagan proofs..
Now the Warmist completely relay on the ”skeptic’s / Plimer’s dysentery” for their successes. If Warmist didn’t use the ”skeptics” as their shield – by now I would have put them in jail! Stefan, not too sure there were that many people in Australia during the LIA. Australia was “settled” in ?1790s and by early 1800s, say 1830, the population of Australia was ?70,000.
Not too sure where all the bush fires, that killed so many people as to count as ” people…dying in the big bush fires”, occurred.
It is also a known fact that the aboriginals of Australia, of which early documentation suggests a population of between 300,000 and 1 million, first used fire, as a hunting tool, to (en)trap animals. Over the thousands of years, certain plant species developed which required fire in order to propagate. (This has now become a problem for California as they decided to extensively plant eucalyptus varieties of trees and these are known to easily turn to fuel, along with other combustible materials, that ignite fires very easily and quickly).
This use of fires, by the aboriginal people, became a tradition over many thousands of years, so I am uncertain as to how, in your view, this ties in with the Little Ice Age.
I think people were using the Thames for more than a few days when it was frozen. I do know that Houdini did his great escape act during this period, and there are many documented photos of his descending into the water, through a hole cut into the ice. Apparently, there were fairs held on the Thames; it was used for recreational ice skating and, generally, people promenaded along this frozen “wonderland”.
I don’t dispute anything you say – although I have not had the time to research adequately everything that you attest.
That the LIA occurred seems to have been extensively researched and adequately documented.
I also know that Professor Ian Pilmer is not a bogey. Are there two Ian Pilmers and we are confusing the two, perhaps?

You will instantly say: but now Sahara is just as big, why and how LIA finished?!! Constant debate when LIA finished, because in the finishing years might have influenced other freak events, so, it’s unclear for them, but, YOU will tell them exactly which year the LIA officially finished! The biggest proof of LIA you have is: on a picture people scatting on frozen river Thames for few days. Well, two years ago, 1000 miles south/ closer to the equator; in Serbia and Romania river Danube 10 times bigger river than Thames, was completely frozen for two weeks, well recorded, same as Thames frozen scatting (people record unusual events, good days are boring) , BUT – now the shonks were not able to declare it as: midi ice age for 150y, because: when Danube was frozen and people were dying from cold in England, Poland – at exactly the same time was record braking heat in Australia and people were dying in the big bushfires. Now you know how and why LIA happened – tell the world in your English.

I wonder if our current weather situation is being ignored because of all the emphasis on global warming. For at least 7 -12 years the Northern ice cap has been on a growing trend, same with the southern ice sheets, and this year the Northern hemisphere has the largest snow extent for this time ever – it sure seems like the globe is cooling down – and yet NOAA is poised to say 2014 was the warmest year ever.
By having this strong false bias towards pretending there is a warming trend, we are preventing scientists from getting funding to study the real cooling that has been occurring over the last few years.
Craig Idso’s site, CO2Science.com has hundreds of peer-reviewed papers asserting the same conclusion — that the LIA (and the MWP) were global.
