In case you're confused–I am bellicose

There are those who are satisfied to lose after a little scuffle–I am not.

Bill Kristol has been on my list of compromisers for a long time. Too many times he finessed a bad result when he should have been stalwart–as we say in Texas–stout.
Too much DC beltway in his life experience. His father had a clearer head and could define evil better, in my humble opinion. HOWEVER, Kristol seems to have had a revelation.
I can’t believe that he has awakened and realizes politeness and compromise don’t getterdun when you’re dealing with nut case lefties who cannot accept less than victory of their socialist ideology.
Whether its education, environment, killing infants ready to be born or a ways away, bad environmental rules, panicky stupid anxieties about natural processes, misguided and abusive banking and finance conduct, overreach by government and its agencies into realms of personal property and individual rights, immigration laxity that threatens the social fabric, social disputes that may result in the extinguishing of the natural law rules established by centuries of civilization, weakness in the face of bullies and savages, allowances of barbarianism as just another choice, issues like marriage of people of the opposite sex, avoidance of supporting sexual lifestyles that promote predation of children, the end result is a civilized society, civilized man, must stand for something, not retreat from conflict or adversity or even cruel and unrelenting opposition.
Men must stand for something. Women better stand with them.
Here is the focal point of Kristol’s essay.
Ronald Reagan said on accepting the nomination:
Never before in our history have Americans been called upon to face three grave threats to our very existence, any one of which could destroy us. We face a disintegrating economy, a weakened defense, and an energy policy based on the sharing of scarcity.
The major issue of this campaign is the direct political, personal, and moral responsibility of Democratic party leadership—in the White House and in Congress—for this unprecedented calamity which has befallen us. They tell us they have done the most that humanly could be done. They say that the United States has had its day in the sun; that our nation has passed its zenith. They expect you to tell your children that the American people no longer have the will to cope with their problems; that the future will be one of sacrifice and few opportunities.
My fellow citizens, I utterly reject that view. The American people, the most generous on earth, who created the highest standard of living, are not going to accept the notion that we can only make a better world for others by moving backwards ourselves. Those who believe we can have no business leading the nation.
I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose. We have come together here because the American people deserve better from those to whom they entrust our nation’s highest offices, and we stand united in our resolve to do something about it.

If you say we are beyond saving–look around you at all the great things you see and all the good people. Look around and consider the importance of standing for something and knocking down these chattering mountebanks. I could say more, but I always have to stop after mountebanks–it describes the phony elites and politicians I see everywhere. And, the phony scientists.

  1. Ronald Wilson Reagan was also called a neo-con. Don’t buy into the Left’s propaganda that labels anyone on the right that disagrees with their ideology as a ‘neo-con’.

  2. 19th century: Men must stand for something. Women better stand with them.
21st century: Men and women must stand for something. Their partners better stand with them.

  3. Conservatives will always find un-common ground with those who should be fellow travelers and therefore allow victorious outcomes for socialists.

  4. Kristol is a neo-con.
    They have a specific agenda.
It has nothing to do with conservatism or what’s right for America.
“A neoconservative (also spelled “neo-conservative”; colloquially, neocon) in American politics is someone presented as a conservative but who actually favors big government, interventionalism, and a hostility to religion in politics and government. The word means “newly conservative,” and thus formerly liberal. A neocon is a RINO Backer, and like RINOs does not accept most of the important principles in the Republican Party platform. Neocons do not participate in the March for Life, stand up for traditional marriage, or advocate other conservative social values. Neocons support attacking and even overthrowing foreign governments, despite how that often results in more persecution of Christians. Some neocons (like Dick Cheney) have profited immensely from the military-industrial complex. “
