By current junk science standards he was extremely successful.
1. He got a lot of publicity.
2. He used other people’s (taxpayer’s) money.
3. He made scientific conclusions that were meaningless and false.
4. He made book and TV deals – getting more money.
5. He abandoned the ship’s crew while he was “rescued”- bravery by today’s standards.
6. He managed to get away with all this – setting an example for other junk scientists to follow.
