Oncologists are now moving toward recommending prophylactic oophorectomy for carriers of the BRCA mutation. This quantitative assessment of risk is a strong argument for oophorectomy.

Umm, shouldn’t removing the oprgans have reduced the risk of cancer of those organs by 100% to ZERO!?!? Obviously I am not understanding something here.
