Senator Landrieu is from Louisiana, an energy producing state.
As Chairman of the Senate Energy Committee she will have to balance her party pressures with her constituent concerns.

It’s almost impossible to balance those things out, so much of America’s political system is compromised by asking politicians to fight against themselves. Thanks for sharing this
She’s a few years late.
For example, I just got one from her declaring “It’s time to approve Keystone!”.
True, but she’s trying as hard as she can. I get emails from her office becuase I contacted her about gun laws a while back. According to her missives she’s practically a tea party republican. It’s the most furious back-pedalling I’ve seen in a long time.
“Landrieu has already distanced herself from the president, rebuking Obama for failing to keep his promise to the American people on keeping existing health care policies.”
No she hasn’t. She can’t distance herself. She was a primary participant. She too was out front telling the same lie as Obama. It was HER promise, too.
