  1. His estimates of “sweltering” summers were pretty good when I lived in Michigan and Virginia is, as expected, 100% sweltering and has been for the last 12 years. In other words it gets hot in the summer and all Hanson really predicted is that it would get hot in the summer. Hotter than normal? What’s normal? In 1862, soldiers on both sides died of extreme heat.
    Hanson made a stupid, vague prediction. Why should it have any real merit?
