Michael Mann writes at Environment 360:

His call for carbon emission limits on all coal-fired power plants, not just newly built plants, is a bold step forward. It will go some way to stemming our growing carbon emissions and the impact they are having on our climate.

Of course, even if the U.S. stopped emitting CO2 today, we would avoid about 27 ppm CO2 atmospheric accumulation by 2100 — i.e., hardly anything in a world with a CO2 level of 500 ppm or more.

  1. One tenth of one percent is the equivalent of one millimeter on a meter stick. That is “some way” but it’s a mighty small way.

  2. Steve, please stop obfuscating the issue with facts and reason. Actually, I’d like to thank you for your activism. Sometimes, when I comment here, I believe that I’m merely sharing my opinion with other members of the choir.
