The Washington Times reports:
Mr. Barrasso said EPA nominee Gina McCarthy recently reported to the Senate that she did not know anything about the plans Mr. Obama announced today, even though the strategy will be orchestrated by her agency.
He said that either means she is “ignorant” of what’s going on at the EPA, where she is an administrator, or “she is arrogant and wants the Senate not to know what she really knows.”
“Either way, I think this tarnishes her chances of being approved by the Senate, tarnishes her nomination,” he said. “The American people need someone at the EPA [whom] they can trust to be honest with them.”
