  1. Perhaps the reason that the blue duplo has it so well is because they have the energy! After all, the first red duplo is ramping up to mimic the blue. By cutting the energy usage of the blue, you do not raise any of the reds, you lower the blue.

  2. “You can say he makes the point that cheap, abundant energy with accompanying CO2 emissions is the way out of poverty.”

Hmm, no he’s a swedish warmist, he would never deliberately make that argument.

” However, this is a silly, simplistic analogy. I kept thinking, “this guy is a statistician?” If you like the old “lies, damned lies and statistics” phrase, where does this muddled propagandist fall?”

Even though Rosling is an arch warmist he actually does some valuable work with his son. This is his website that allows anyone to visualize all sorts of public data:

  3. Maybe I’m simple minded but all I saw was the worlds poor ridding on the backs of the wealthy “West”. I would prefer to see this future development being more horizontal rather than vertical.

  5. He’s right, in that cheap, abundant energy will propel the poorest to higher levels of wealth. Forget the carbon dioxide “religion”. Governments that encourage developmement and the ability to own property will bring most of the poor to modern levels of success and health care.

If Hans Rosling had not had the benefits as described above, he couldn’t be able to lecture the rest of us.
