Al Gore in Hollywood: Warmists too poor to afford TV airtime; Can’t get message out

Earth to Al:

You owned a TV network. You sold if for $500 million (of which you got $100 million). Your personal net worth exceeds $200 million. Your nonprofit Alliance for Climate Protection has annual revenue in the neighborhood of $16 million. The environmental industry has annual income on the order of $3 billion. Bill Gates, the world second richest man, has a net worth of $67 billion. It’s not that warmists don’t have enough money or get enough airtime/ink; your problem is that you are intellectually and morally bankrupt.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Gore lamented that a modern-day Thomas Paine would not be able to get his “Common Sense” message to the masses today because he couldn’t afford TV airtime, and he criticized the “rise of television at the expense of the printing press.”

  1. It’s part of the packaging deal that we who despise Gore and have little use for Mathews or Winfrey wind up subsidizing them with our monthly fees. But I don’t know that I’d like to pay $2/month and pick channels either.

  2. I thought the AGW equivalent of “Common Sense” was supposed to be “An Inconvenient Truth”. I can’t seem to get that one OFF of my cable channels.

  3. Ironic that the “Inventor of the Internet” thinks that folks can’t get information due to a lack of TV airtime or printing presses. The internet has made it possible for folks to get at information (albeit some less accurate than others) more quickly and easily than Thomas Paine ever imagined. Interesting he would use “Common Sense” as his example since much of the AGW theory is lacking in that.

  4. “…your [Al Gore’s] problem is that you are intellectually and morally bankrupt.”

Al couldn’t even steal the Bush/Gore election in Florida with a stuffed ballot box, denying the military the right to have their votes counted, and endlessly recounting hanging chads while morphing the definition of a hanging chad with each recount. How can it be said that he even had enough intellectual and moral capacity to go bankrupt? You have to have it before you can go bankrupt with it.

  5. Al Gore said that warmists can’t get their message out? He actually said that? (Snort, spray monitor with spittle, snort.)
