Obama Energy nominee Moniz says even natural gas will eventually require carbon capture; But such capture is fiscally and physically impossible

Moniz’s response to a question from Colorado Sen. Mark Udall. Said that natural gas was only a “bridge” to a “low carbon economy.” Moniz also reiterated that “the scientific basis for warranting action [on global warming] is completely clear.”

  1. i debated for almost a year with one of NASA AGW Ph.D scientist . . he had zero facts . . it was all just short time 5000 years of computer model based on very area limited data . . when challenged on the limits of the data he just flipped out and started calling names . . just like the left politics of AGW – create a story and get the MSM to repeat it endlessly – sooner of latter the people think of it as fact. Oh well the truth is leaking out that they were just GRANT WHORES and gave what they were paid to provide.

Take the money away for Universities and think tanks , ,

  2. Based on what I’ve heard from Chu and now this guy, they are not well grounded in things practical. I do green energy permit applications for landfill gas to electricity projects. Applications need BACT for GHG including sequestrations, even though we do 4MW-10MW plants. There is no place to sequester CO2, only a couple of demonstration projects. Do they believe that the rate payers want to pay for this science project of some deepwell capture of CO2? I leave the utilities out. They will do anything because they can add these billion buck boondoogles to the cost of electricity. I thought it took more smarts than that to be a perfesser from MIT.

  3. Great point. The ocean seems to be great for carbon capture as it has eaten Hansen’s global warming.
