I think the effect of divestment would be minimal in any event. Those who sell assets for noneconomic reasons simply create buying opportunities for those with more rational motivations.
Imagine that. International trade is good for people in developing countries who need jobs. Divesting is liable to destroy those jobs. Who’d’a thunk it?
