    A tale of brave scientists discovering that it is cold in the Antarctic, that days in the summer are very long and that the weather can destroy the integrity of your samples. It might have been a good story if it hadn’t been told as though these were the first folks braving this. It’s colder, more isolated and more dangerous than the Arctic, but people have been living in those extreme conditions for a very long time. I’ve heard similar long daylight stories from friends and relatives who lived in Alaska.
