I find Issa’s language to Blumenfeld to be inappropriately dainty and collegial, appealing to Blumenfeld “to stand up for the interest of transparency and cooperate….” If Blumenfeld responds to Issa with a statement that is proven false, is there any recourse for Issa? Would such a response be considered perjury? If perjury, what potential penalties are there? Or is this all kabuki?
