Nomination speech redo: “This was won’t be the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal…”
“Bottom line: Obama is likely to take more steps to reduce the pollution blamed for climate change. But those actions probably will not be of the scale needed to help much in slowing the heating of the planet.”
Nature is driving the rate of sea-level change, so Obama will not change it with any policy. Nature is driving the rate of temperature change — if any, I’ve become doubtful even of that — so Obama will not change it with any policy.
Obama is more likely to damage wealth production, with resultant harm to ordinary people like me and poor people like some of my neighbors, than he is to even clean up some of the remaining real pollution. Most of the real pollution is coming from the lovers-of-the-workers in the Third World.
