Republican plans Senate bill to put brakes on E15 approval

E15 has been shown to damage car engines.

“Mississippi Republican Roger Wicker this week plans to introduce a Senate bill targeting U.S. EPA’s decision to increase the amount of ethanol allowed in gasoline from 10 percent to 15 percent, according to a spokesman for the senator.”

  1. Ethanol Today found an engine that can run on E15. Therefore, they “reason,” E15 is fine for all engines. Hard to to argue with logic like that.

  2. From my 2013 Nissan 370Z manual:
    E15 fuel contains more than 10% oxygenate
    E15 fuel WILL adversely affect the emission control devices
    and systems of the vehicle and should not be used.

    The EPA seems to be trying to cut their own throats from every angle.
