The 34-year-old “mistake” is a former Navy officer and lawyer.
Salon.com reports:
..His son, Adam Paul Laxalt, was born in 1978, and is a former officer of the Navy and current lawyer. Adam Laxalt’s mother, Michelle Laxalt, works as a lobbyist, and is herself the daughter of former Sen. Paul Laxalt, R-Nev., who also chaired the Republican National Committee.
In a statement, Michelle Laxalt wrote: ”Recently information has come to me that this sacred situation might be twisted … and shopped to press outlets large and small in a vicious attempt to smear, hurt and diminish Pete Domenici, an honorable man, his extraordinary wife, Nancy, and other innocents.” She described the affair as “one night’s mistake led to pregnancy.”…
“Pete Domenici, an honorable man” — An honorable man would have accepted the consequences of his “mistake”, publicly and honestly. But instead, he lied for decades and denied his own child her identity.
More than a little too self-serving to be considered honorable.
Amy, ditto.
Amy… yes the encounter ceased to be a “mistake” at conception. Thanks for clarifying.
To be fair, at the time anyone with brains would have said a 24 year old young lady having sex with a 46-year-old married Senator was a mistake. She also called the situation “sacred.”
However, I appreciate that the sentiment behind your post is intended to be pro-child, and in that, we very much agree.
