When Granholm was Michigan AG a company, deservedly, was fined by the State for a number of environmental infractions and entered into a consent decree with stipulated penalties. I was the environmental manager after the consent decree had been entered into. Some folks in the Michigan DEQ and the AG’s office gamed the consent decree to increase fines on the company. They backed off when we offered to discuss the penalties with the judge. Add that to Granholm’s abysmal performance as Governor and you have to wonder why anyone would entrust anything of importance to her.
