Obama is Heinlein’s “reform politician” to the very life. The “reform” politician swings to whoever last has the politician’s ear and changes policy with the best of intentions.
I am sure that Obama sees himself as a pioneer (which he ain’t) of the humanitarian (which it ain’t) “progressive” (which it ain’t) agenda. He doesnt’ believe that his policies are contributing to hunger in Central America and economic stagnation worldwide and the emboldening of Islamist supremacists around the world. They are, but he is wilfully blind to this.
That doesn’t make him any better, just helps us understand him.
