  1. The NRA needs to talk about Dictators. The NRA needs to point out how Assad and Mubarak attacked the Freedom of the People. How religious freedom was being attacked by a dictator. How the people needed to revolt with heavy arms. And then the NRA needs to tell the people how Obama has attacked Freedom of Religion!

  2. It’s worse than that.

There are three general types of soldiers’ long arms: sub machine gun, assault rifle, and battle rifle.

The assault rifle came into general use in 1944, in the form of the German Sturmgewehr 44, a select-fire rifle using an intermediate cartridge, i.e., a cartridge larger than the SMG’s pistol ammo, and smaller than the battle rifle’s full caliber ammo. Full caliber examples are the .30-06 and the 7.62 Nato.

Sturmgewehr translates literally to “assault rifle.” Some suggest the name actually originated with Hitler.

The U.S. military M-16/M-4 are the American military’s select-fire, intermediate cartridge rifle. Our assault rifle.

I said all that to say this: the assault rifle is already banned in the U.S. Select-fire guns are not sold to the public.

Calling the civilian AR-15 an “assault rifle” is either grossly ignorant, or a direct lie. Finkstink’s flash hider or pistol grip or whatever DO NOT MAKE AN ASSAULT RIFLE.

  3. By banning “assault weapons” (or assault rifles/guns) they effectively ban ALL weapons since ALL weapons – by definition – may be used in an assault

  4. “The show is the biggest in the nation”

This will come as a shock to Wanenmacher, the producer of the Tulsa Arms Show.

And the SHOT Show organizers, too.
