Greens and other leftists band together, pledge millions to fight conservatives

“It was the kind of meeting that conspiratorial conservative bloggers dream about.”

“A month after President Barack Obama won reelection, top brass from three dozen of the most powerful groups in liberal politics met at the headquarters of the National Education Association (NEA), a few blocks north of the White House. Brought together by the Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Communication Workers of America (CWA), and the NAACP, the meeting was invite-only and off-the-record. Despite all the Democratic wins in November, a sense of outrage filled the room as labor officials, environmentalists, civil rights activists, immigration reformers, and a panoply of other progressive leaders discussed the challenges facing the left and what to do to beat back the deep-pocketed conservative movement.” [Mother Jones]

  1. Tucci, I wish you wouldn’t have said that.

Meetings like this are very important to philanthropists (sic) who run foundations and want to determine if their charitable (sic) donations will actually ‘be effective in driving social change’ etc. and so forth. Literally, hundred$ of million$ can cross the table after events like this, which also help Green Left NGOs coordinate and craft their narrative to present the ‘unified front’ that the money-saturated foundations like to see. Is it conspiracy? Well, it’s business as usual, for one thing.

  2. Heavens to Betsy, but what a wonderful turnover in the ranks of the rats might’ve been managed with only a couple kilos of C-4 strategically deployed in that room….
