Of course there have been deaths. The issue is attributing them to something.
Beijing’s air pollution may not be causing any acute deaths — probably is not. But it’s almost certainly affecting susceptible individuals, aggravating COPD in those who have it and setting up COPD for vulnerable individuals. Of course you’re not advocating air pollution and I know that, but it’s still valid to acknowledge likely long-term harm even if the EPA’s PM2.5 stuff is mostly nonsense.
What about the study estimating deaths?
