  1. Some people get more irritable during warmer weather and street gangs are more active when it’s warmer, at least to a point. But without a weather trend, you can’t trend the violence against the weather trend.
    It would be interesting to take several large cities and look at the rate of violent crime against temps. I think there are too many factors to really make a valid correlation, but it might be curvilinear — that is, violence increases in street activity until it’s too dang hot for the hoods to go outside and then it falls off again. That’s plausible but I don’t know of any evidence that supports it.
