Manchin is a politician. His *sole* priority is getting re-elected. He has coldly calculated that allegiance to the Democrat Party will do more to accomplish that than support for the working voters in his constituency. After all, many of them are compulsive Democrats, voting the Big “D” because they always have, just like dad and grandpa and great-grandpa.
