The Washington Post, leftie rag that it is, continues its assault against Obama’s EV push — “The basic theory of the Obama push for electric vehicles — if you build them, customers will come — was a myth. And an expensive one, at that.” [Read the article]
I call them Voltsels.
The car’s name is often misspelled, it’s “Dolt”.
Good to see you Mr. Milloy. Did something happen to Barry? It’s unlike him to be absent like this
So with one hand the government is trying to get everyone into an electric car, and then with the other (EPA) they are trying to get the coal powered generating plants shut down. Either they are trying to crash the economy or they have no idea what they are doing. Either way it’s bad for the US citizen.
Sadly, the article fails to make the connection between this one example of government failure and the broader policy and practice of government investment/ownership in private enterprises. The US government has no constitutional authority or responsibility to engage in the picking of winners and losers for investment (and, by definition, such activity is unconstitutional). Further, its level of performance in such activities has been universally dismal. Lastly, its engaging in such activities subverts normal market forces, causing far more disruption than just the investment losses.
