Fireworks: Inhofe v. Maddow on global warming

Debra Saunders spotlights Sen. Inhofe’s appearance tonight on Rachel Maddow.

Saunders writes:

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., will be on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show tonight to discuss his new book, “The Greatest Hoax, How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future.” Given her blog hitting Inhofe for quoting from the Bible, you can expect fireworks…

  1. I don’t know. Yes, in the sense that only he was at risk. Only we could gain – and we did.
He conceded that oil companies don’t need subsidies from taxpayers, the same taxpayers he says he wants to protect from the costs of fighting “the hoax.”
Now I guess we’d better find out for sure: Is global warming a hoax, or is climate-gate the hoax? Rachel cites the disproof of the claim that scientists were trying to fabricate information. My guess is that if you believe in science, you tend to trust the scientists, as Maddow she does. But Inhofe believes (he says) that God will handle it. So it’s come down to science vs. superstition (which can never be disproved.)
Is he God’s messenger, then? Why is God misleading scientists and making them dishonest, while scaring us all about the future of the planet when, He Himself has no intention of letting it happen? Or if he does, that’s tough for us, so we may as well not try to do anything. Did Inhofe reason this out for himself, or does he communicate with God? We don’t know, but we do know that he’s in touch with the oil companies. And they give him lots of money.
Yeah, he made a mistake. Could be his last (we can only hope).

  2. Inhofe should read Isiah a little closer….

Isaiah 24:4-6. The earth dries up and withers, the world languished and withers, the exalted of the earth languish. The earth lies under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt.

  3. If Senator Inhofe really wants to prove global warming is a hoax, he should sponser legislation to ensure that research done with public grant dollars is transparent to the public. He should make the federal dollars contingent on public access to the data set and the computer programs used to apply said data set. Complete transparency or no money. Maybe this should include all transcribed communication involving said data sets and computer models software ect.. too. No transparency, no money. If we can’t see what they did, frack them.

  4. Shame on Inhofe for giving credibility to Maddow by appearing on her show. There is little chance that there were any leftists watching the show inclined to buy Inhofes book so his appearance there was pointless.
