Church leaders from some of the UK’s biggest churches have made a call for ‘repentance’ over a prevailing ‘shrug-culture’ towards climate change.
Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, Rt Rev Richard Chartres, Bishop of London, Most Rev Barry Morgan, Archbishop of Wales, Cardinal Keith O’Brien, Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh and leaders of the Methodist, Baptist and URC churches are among those signing Operation Noah’s Ash Wednesday Declaration.
Runaway global warming would “diminish food security, accelerate the extinction of huge numbers of species and make human life itself impossible in some parts of the world” the statement says…
I find it hard to believe people who say they are for good stewardship and persons of faith want to inflict death and misery on most of the world. This would be the result of abandoning fossil fuels that the good “Lord” gave man the wisdom to use.
Jim Jones would be proud.
So it’s immoral not to believe in a social conscript based upon an unproven post-normal scientific hypothesis?
There is ONE concept that divides Religion from Science….it’s Faith.
Religion demands faith.
Science demands skepticism.
Let me kindly remind these most revered institutions…We are called to be “Good Stewards” – “Good Stewardship” is entirely INDEPENDENT of one’s belief ( Faith ) or disbelief in the unproven hypothesis of CAGW..
OMG, it’s the Asse-Hatte of Canterbury again. Moral question – yes. Either they fail to understand the question or they choose to be on the wrong side. Truth and free will first. The answer they’re proselytizing is the opposite of that. Repent, O ye weather cookers and laggards!
When you have turned your back on God and all that he has commanded, you need an idol to follow and “Climate change” is the grotesque image de jour.
