Charles beats DiCaprio on climate

Good news: Al Gore and Prince Charles are equally credible in the UK on climate.

The Press Association reports,

People in London are more likely to be influenced by the Royal Family, politicians and business leaders, than celebrities when it comes to climate change, according to new research.
Prince Charles and Al Gore topped a poll commissioned by Climate Week which asked over 1,000 people to choose who from a list of famous individuals would be most likely to make them act on climate change.

Sir Richard Branson came second, followed by Barack Obama and the Queen.

Meanwhile Leonardo DiCaprio, one of Hollywood’s most committed green stars, did not feature in the top ten and was found to have no more influence than celebrities not known for green issues such as David Beckham, Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole.

Two out of three people in London (66%) said that scientists’ views on climate change are the ones they trust the most, with just over one in two (53%) saying that scientific claims about the climate make a difference to how they live…
