Rep. Bill Johnson (R-Ohio) questioned the Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, to find out what he knew about his department telling contractors to lie about job loss estimates from his proposed rewrite of the Stream Buffer Zone Rule. This proposed rewrite could cost almost 30,000 direct and indirect coal jobs.

Pulling a comment from tons of emails is not proper in my book. Let’s give the secretary a chance to study the matter.
Our government is infested by Naderite zealots. The American people have no shame with their idiocy in the Toyota matter. That is the real problem with our wonderful Democracy.
Stalls. Evasions. Denials. Typical.
Somebody will be transferred to a less-visible desk.
Nobody’s head will roll.
The hope is that this kind of bureaucratic lying and intimidation will stay under the radar until after the (re?)election.
