Over 50 years ago, the Kingston Trio sang Sheldon Harnick’s “Merry Minuet”:

There’s hurricanes in Florida, and Texas needs rain.”
We seem to have completely lost any historical perspective, possibly with Mass Media help, and see everything as totally unprecidented. Where is a leader with some perspective?
