EPA air rule kills 34 jobs in Indianapolis

Check out the Obama EPA’s Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR) in action.

To avoid $15 million in capital costs and and additional $5 million in annual operating costs caused by Obama EPA’s new CSAPR), Citizens Energy in replacing a coal-fired steam plant in Indianapolis with a natural gas-powered one.

The move will cost 34 employees their jobs.

  1. Will the new plant produce the same amount of energy? If so, with fewer employees, you should be cheering this. See your post on Waxman and employment in coal/solar industry.
