At the Solyndra hearing today, Secretary Chu said no one was to blame for Solyndra’s failure. It was just one of those things that happen, he said.
House Energy and Commerce chairman Rep. Fred Upton asked Chu:
Based on what you know and what’s happened, who has to apologize?”
Chu replied,
It is extremely unfortunate what has happened to Solyndra. Was there incompetence? Was there any undue influence? I’d have to say no.
Upton continued:
So no apology?
Chu responded:
It’s extremely unfortunate what has happened to Solyndra. You and I both feel the same… This company and several others got caught in a very, very bad tsunami”.
