It’s hard to take CDC researchers seriously.
Climatewire reports,
Add sleeping sickness to the list of diseases that may spread more rapidly because of climate change.
Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found that sleeping sickness — or African trypanosomiasis — is likely to spread over larger regions in Africa’s warming climate and infect an additional 46 million to 77 million by 2090…
Putting aside the likely junk science basis for this projection, tens of millions of Africans have already died and tens of millions more will die and billions sickened by inhuman de jure and de facto DDT bans. What is CDC doing about that? Does the agency or its researchers even express concern?
All the more reason for increasing the availability of insecticides that are not toxic to vertebrates, such as DDT!
They’re absolutely right! The longer this crappola goes on the more I tend to fall asleep when the subject comes up.
I once cured a person with sleeping sickness when I was saving lives on the Zambian Copperbelt.
We were all stunned by the fact that the patient even had the disease since the use of DDT was obligatory in our town. To this day I have no idea how he/she arrived on our doorstep.
A proud moment. Appently, pride is a sin. Hmmmm!
