Dems willing to shutdown government over DOE loan program?

Apparently tone-deaf to the $535 million Solyndra debacle, House Democrats are looking to defend Department of Energy loan programs at the peril of a government shutdown.

Politico reports that,

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer was noncommittal Tuesday on whether Democrats would support a stopgap funding bill that must pass in order to keep the federal government running after Sept. 30. The problem, he said, is that the Republican-drafted bill cuts $1.5 billion from an Energy Department loan program to offset extra funds for disaster aid.

As long as House Republicans are looking to make the most of their minority status, how about throwing in some riders to block EPA’s overreach on air quality? Or will it be cheap suit time for the House GOP?

  1. Shut the government down. The financially insane left wing liberal Democrats refuse to recognise they have an addiction to spending, thus aren’t willing to even consider therapy, so just shut the government down.
