America Is Only Nation Where Climate Scientists Face Organized Harassment

This wonderful piece of Journalism comes from “Inside Climate News”,  author, Katherine Bagley, 10th September 2012.

“While outspoken scientists of human-caused climate change in the United States endure torrents of freedom of information requests, hate mail and even death threats from skeptics, their counterparts abroad have been free to do their work without fear.

“I feel for my American colleagues and what they’ve had to deal with,” said Tim Lenton, an earth system scientist who specializes in climate tipping points at the University of Exeter  in the UK. Continue reading

Peter C Glover: The Climate Change Racket: Finally a ‘Day in Court’?

It’s what we non-alarmists have long wanted: the climate change racket on trial in a court of law. In threatening National Review and its international columnist Mark Steyn with legal action over alleged “defamatory remarks” in his ‘Corner’ column, inventor of the famously debunked “hockey stick” climate graph, Dr Michael Mann, may have finally bitten off way more than he can legally chew. Author: Journalists ‘Cover Energy And Environment Subjects As Liberal Activists,’ E-Mails Show

Liberals claim to support transparency in government – until conservatives start finding shady things through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Continue reading

Tim Ball: Climate Science Falsehoods Repeated With PR Orchestrated Counterattack

Why do ‘official’ climate scientists need spin doctors? Because they practice politics not science. Climategate like Watergate was completely undone by the cover up of disgraceful behavior disclosed in emails leaked from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) in November 2009. Continue reading

Ye Old Boy’s Club – An Example With Ben Santer and Kevin Trenberth

It certainly seems that when there is internal disagreement among the Old Boy’s Club, they want to make sure it stays there. As a result, we all lose an important scientific debate on this subject. Continue reading

Climategate and the exclusionary principle

A new paper by Garud et al (Social Studies of Science, forthcoming) reviews Climategate and analyses some of the sociology involved. Continue reading

Another interesting set of emails from the University of Arizona release. These ones date back to 2001, eight or nine months after the publication of the Third Assessment Report. Continue reading

Mark Steyn: Stick It Where the Global Warming Don’t Shine

When last we heard from Michael Mann, his chest-thumping lawyer was bellowing, “I don’t bluff.” As Jonathan Adler writes today at the Volokh Conspiracy lawyers’ blog:

I think the folks at NR just called it.

About that Müller…

I will grant he does like to at least pretend to play both sides of the fence, which can be truly disconcerting and yes, his claimed global warming skepticism was mostly a flag of convenience but he did speak fairly and honestly about the hockey stick fraud and hide the decline, for which he deserves due credit:

Andrew Montford & Harold Ambler: Climategate continues

Will a penalty be called for Keith Briffa’s excessively curved hockey stick? Continue reading

The (Continuing) Erosion of Science – “I Can Change Your Mind About Climate Change”

James Delingpole recently blasted the ABC documentary I Can Change Your Mind About Climate Change.

Having watched it through, I was disappointed but not surprised to see  UK scientist Professor Mike Hulme, of the University of East Anglia and Founder of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Propaganda Research, chipping in with some climate change victims. The only thing is, they are victims of UK government policy, largely driven by the sort of climate alarmism stemming from Mike Hulme’s Tyndall Centre. Continue reading

Horner on the struggle for the Mann emails

The ATI has produced an excellent summary of the convoluted story of the struggle to get Michael Mann’s emails. Continue reading

Larry Bell: A Heated Public Climate Change: Global Tempers Rising Over Costly CO2 Legislation

World-wide populations and policymakers are becoming increasingly less sheepish about the existence of a human-caused climate warming crisis. More and more, they’re recognizing that they are being fleeced by wolves in green camouflage that have been pulling wool over their eyes. Continue reading

Craig Loehle: Scientist’s rebuttal of Michael Mann’s “denier”and other unsavory labels in his book

Since I am mentioned in Mann’s book, The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars: Dispatches from the Front Lines and not kindly, it seems necessary to set the record straight. Continue reading

Tom Jackman: Prince William climate case judge already anticipating the appeal

If you’re into predicting the outcome of a legal case based on the comments made by the judge, retired Arlington Circuit Court Judge Paul Sheridan’s questions to the lawyers in the climate change/Freedom of Information case Monday were pretty interesting. Continue reading
