Recognizing Junk Science
You've seen a few examples of what junk science is and what the consequences of it can be. Now you are going to learn a few techniques that will help you to recognize potentially junk science when you see it.
The fundamental, time-honored process of developing scientific knowledge is called the scientific method. The scientific method must be followed or you will soon find yourself heading into the junk science briar patch. This is the basic lesson of Junk Science Judo. Master it and no fast-talking alarmist will blow a scare past you again.
