Over the Hill rhetoric?

Forget global warming, climate change and climate disruption.  Now we have climate haymaker. Has The Hill  decided to ratchet up the hype by developing a new name for global warming? It seems so in an article titled Strengthen power plan rules to avoid climate haymaker

Think of it as history’s biggest haymaker — after a decadeslong windup, sea-level rise is gearing up to clobber American coastal cities from Miami to D.C., as two recent scientific warnings make clear.

I guess we’ll have to see if “climate haymaker” catches on.  Meanwhile I’ll be a climate skeptic by denying climate haymaker’s, I suppose.

  1. how does five inches over the next 100 years deliver a “haymaker”?? Of course if you’re a liberal rent seeker you just keep adding zeros until somebody pays attention.

  2. The “haymaker” metaphor suggest the climate has been somehow ‘storing up’ its ‘punch’ for decades, and will let it all loose at once.
Are we to expect that one day we will wake up and find that the temperatures and sea levels have suddenly jumped to comply with the decades-old forecasts of the IPCC and Al Gore?
Forgive me if I don’t wait with bated breath.

  3. Ridiculous. Then i saw it was from the CBD. Let’s call it “Climate Redskins’ next to take the heat off the fball team.

  4. It’s just more “climate BS”….and I think we’ve all had more than enough of it.
