  1. A great chance for the Chinese to move in and provide them – expanding their agreements to extract minerals while expanding their political influence.

    • If the Chinese build those plants to Chinese specs, I’m betting the plants give off plenty of real pollution. On the plus side, they’ll likely buy Aussie and Western US coal, so we’ve got that going for us.
      Sheesh. Keeping the poor miserable. What kind of stewardship is that?
