BP has been totally in the save-Gaia tank for years – remember the BP ads with the pale, hippie-looking/dressed woman sitting cross-legged on the ground and saying that clean energy was a “right”? – while taking their eye off the ball of its core business (and stockholders’ interests). The results include the Gulf spill, refinery explosions/fires, and rising fuel prices. Mixing (lefty) politics and business – especially with fundamental industries like energy – is a recipe for disaster.

  2. Wind and Solar were only profitable as long as the governments had cash stimulus money by the bucketful to pour into the communal trough. With no more buckets forthcoming, its a loser.
