Back in the 60’s (or was it the 70’s?) the big fad in psychology was “Transactional Analysis” – a term for the study of human psychology through the classification of their interpersonal interactions (‘transactions’). A pop-culture paperback that came out at this time was Eric Berne’s “Games People Play.” One of the chapters was devoted to the game called “Let’s You and Him Fight.”
It appears there are still some legs to this concept.
