I’ve lived in North Carolina, New Orleans, Michigan and Virginia. Only in Michigan would days above 86F be considered really hot. In NOLA, 86 for consecutive days in July-August would probably be considered a cool spell.

Really? Where does this dude live? We have extreme summers here, where it gets to 86 degrees for months. It doesn’t trigger deaths; it triggers golf.
