    someone forgot to tell him that 40% of the corn in the US is used for biofuels.

    and to single out one year when in general the production of corn has shot up over the last 30 years.

  2. In spite of his degree in Mathematics and his career in banking and economics, it appears from is report that Lord Stern has certain difficulties in calculating discounted interest. His report and his speculations regarding the cause and effects of climate change have bluntly been characterized as less authoritative; all in line with his lack of scholarly competence regarding the physics and chemistry of global climate. Of course, there is nothing wrong in not being an expert on global climate, but then it would be better not to launch all kinds of doom forecasts just based on political conviction.
