More anti-people environmentalism

Humans are a plague on the Earth that need to be controlled by limiting population growth, according to Sir David Attenborough.

David Attenborough – Humans are plague on Earth

The television presenter said that humans are threatening their own existence and that of other species by using up the world’s resources. He said the only way to save the planet from famine and species extinction is to limit human population growth.

“We are a plague on the Earth. It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now,” he told the Radio Times. Sir David, who is a patron of the Optimum Population Trust, has spoken out before about the “frightening explosion in human numbers” and the need for investment in sex education and other voluntary means of limiting population in developing countries…

  1. David has it within his immediate power to reduce the plague of humanity on earth by one human. He’s now duty bound to exit, stage left….

  2. it is interesting that environmentalist say we’re over crowded and the earth can’t handle the growth but if you look at the areas restricted to no human expansion just in the US you see there is plenty of room for everyone and crop growth. Just allow human expansion.

However on the off chance that Sir Attenborough is correct I would like to put the list of “gotta goes” together for the first wave of “volunteers”. Any guesses who might top my list?

  3. Tee hee hee hee hee. The greatest check on human population growth turns out to be — wealth. All wealthier societies have lower birth rates and all societies see their birth rates go down as they become wealthier.
In fact, on current population trends, the curve bends down around 2100-ish with a peak population between 9 and 12 billion.

  4. Using some simple math, if you take the land area of Texas and divide it by the total estimated population of the Earth; you find that there is a lower population density than New York City. Compare that with the increase in crop yields per acre and the decline in farm land over the last decade. It is just an attempt to excuse the mass murder of millions under the guise of beneficent environmentalism. Not that I am telling anybody here anything new.

    • Clint, have your ever seen the Georgia guide stones? A true monument to beneficent environmentalism. They actually state that the population of the earth should be held to under have a billion. So 5.5 billion of us have to go. Check them out sometime if you haven’t. they sit in the middle of nowhere and are monitored 24/7. No one admits to putting them there.

      • It is worse than that. 6.5 billion of the 7 billion on earth are to go. 93% human-free. Who shall be the high and mighty who shall decide who shall live and who shall die. I do not like my chances here. Do note, Kony, the African tyrant “only” murdered 90% of the population-he still has to murder another 30% of the survivors to be on target with “Sustainable Development.” Wimp.

  5. So I am to assume he walked and swam all over the world to shoot his tv shows so he wouldn’t increase his carbon footprint beyond those of most of the plague he would like to be rid of?

  6. You miss the point, here nik, you see if most of us are dead and gone, the his SUV and private jet are far less of a problem to the planet because we are dead and can’t drive or fly anymore. See if we are all dead and off the planet or at least refertilizing it, the the elite’s SUV, airconditioning, electric lights, refrigerators, stoves and planes will have much less of an impact with the foot print the leave. One elitist foot print is not a problem, but 6 million people leaving a foot print bothers him.

think man, it all makes sense when you realize your carbon stinks and his doesn’t. Substitute whatever word you want for carbon there.

    Just saying

  7. I think Sir David should lead by example and see how many follow the lead.

  8. Yes, Sir David……….. long walk off a short pier……. don’t forget to breathe…. moron!
