  1. 54th out of 100 is about the middle. So much for the idea that climate change is causing extreme weather events.
    Of course it depends on what one defines as an extreme weather event and how that definition may change over the period measured. The watermelon AGW gang have embraced the idea that any event which annoys more than four or five people is extreme — if it occurred after 1975 or so. If it occurred in the 1930s and drove thousands off their homes, well, that was just weather.

  2. With FOUR BILLION years of history, to say *any* part of the past 150 years of record keeping is “normal” is arrogance.
