  1. For years I have been hearing that the biggest threat to French wines was American wines.

  2. Because of government subsidies, France produces so much wine that a lot of it is distilled into ethanol for motor vehicle fuel. They’re not going to run low on wine *any* time soon. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/06/international/europe/06wine.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

    As for the vaunted ‘flavor’ disruption from climate change, too bad for the cheese eating surrender monkeys. There’s still the good stuff from California, they can import all they want.
