The prize was for the EU in recognition for its role in “promoting reconciliation and peace”. If we accept that the ‘EU’ is nothing more than a representative body of EU citizens, then Michael Mann, along with myself and some 400 million other Europeans would indeed be a ‘winner’.
Why he would wish to be tainted with such a ridiculous prize (see past winners), given for a spurious reason (Kosovo, anyone?), however, raises questions about his sanity.
