Alarming data and warnings about climate change have been with us for twenty years.
The issue has morphed into something like a low-level toothache. The public is numbed by all the bad news, and in place of sensible solutions, we witness the folly of political polarization. You can’t believe in climate change and be a good conservative. This departure from fact-based reality is only part of the problem. China and the U.S., who produce 40% of the world’s harmful emissions, block measures to reverse the trend toward global warming for purely selfish reasons – two rich economies want to preserve the status quo.
Boo hoo. Even with China and the US pumping out CO2 (with the US setting new records in low-CO2 output) global temperature is flat-lining. And questions beginning with “Do you believe?” belongs more in Bible tent revival events than elsewhere.
Deepak CHopra’s entire existence invites an ad hominem attack, but aside from that, his paper assumes the truth of future disaster from AGW. Those who disagree have merely to say, “You left out an option, to wit, that there will be no future disaster because ….” That’s my position and the reason is that the proposed disaster is entirely an artifact of assumed and unproved positive H20 vapor feedback to the possible 1 degree warming induced by GHG doubling from per-industrial times. Indeed my position is that the feedback will be negative to neutral and that 1/2 of the 1 degree presumed warming will be allocated to evaporation, leaving only a 1/2 degree warming impact.
Deepak Chopra once said, ” To acquire true self power you have to feel beneath no-one, be immune to criticism and be fearless”.
Wise words, but he left out “stupid” because, surely, by his very words he is suggesting total ignorance and lack of intelligent knowledge are prerequisites to proving AGW.
So where is all the dissent about some that is not qualified to comment about climate changing weighing in on it? Oh yeah, as long as you are lock step with ‘the program’, you are an expert and thus qualified to comment.
These people all belong to the Progressive Commie Cockroach Hate America Cult. Why won’t they just join hands and jump off a cliff. That would reduce the worlds carbon footprint to my satisfaction.
