Andrew Bolt: Greens complain that green schemes kill birds

Just some of the birds killed so far by Victoria’s Waubra wind farm:

The same problem in Tasmania:

At the state’s largest wind farm at Woolnorth in the island’s north-west, 19 wedge-tailed eagles are known to have been killed since it began operations in 2003. Another three sea eagles also have hit the rotors…

The Greens complained about green power:

Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown said he was deeply distressed to learn that a breeding pair of the endangered Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagles had been killed at the Roaring Forties Woolnorth Bluff Point wind farm.

There should be no more wind turbines built in Tasmania’s prime raptor region until the problem is fixed,” Senator Brown said.

Solution? Cut the green power:

Nevertheless to its credit, the company, a joint venture of Hydro Tasmania and China Light & Power Asia, has tried hard to reduce the strikes…. Turbines have been shut down in some wind conditions, or when eagles are seen nearby

Green power, stopped by green worries.
