Craig Emerson turns the serious into a stunt
TRADE Minister Craig Emerson has been booed off the political stage after delivering a song-and-dance routine ridiculing the opposition’s anti-carbon tax campaign and its claims that the South Australian town of Whyalla would be wiped off the map.
Dr Emerson yesterday used an ABC television appearance to sing “No Whyalla wipe-out there on my TV”, parodying the 1970s Skyhooks song Horror Movie. The carefully planned stunt triggered opposition claims Labor was not taking concerns about the impact of the new tax seriously.
This allegedly passes for politics in Australia’s political Left.
